Veitongo Football Club have secured another year of the TFA Major League Trophy in their cabin after both Men and Women teams triumphs in both Premier category final on Saturday 28th January 2023.
In the Premier Women’s final, Veitongo opened the score board with a Goal from midfielder, Seini Lutu in the 20th mintues of the game. Toa Girls then retaliated with a lot of opportunities to put points on the score board but Veitongo’s Goal Keeper, Mele’ana Taufa was too good to allow any ball in to their goal. Veitongo came back in the second half with 4 more goals two each from both strikers, ‘Ana Polovili and Siunipa Talasinga to seal the game with a final score 5-0.

With 13 years before making the final in the Men’s Premier Division again, Navutoka Football Club came with a high spirit along with many supporters to show that they earned their spot in the final and to compete to become the champion of TFA Major League 2022. Unfortunately Veitongo FC had to teach Navutoka’s young players a little more lessons scoring 9 goals altogether in the game.
Tonga’s National Under 16 Men’s Head Coach, Lui Muavesi at the age of 57 scored Navutoka FC’s only goal of the final in the 92nd minutes to finish the game with a 9-1 victory to Veitongo Football Club.

TFA Competition Committee President, Mr Suliasi Vivili was given the privilege of presenting the prize to the winners of teams for each categories of the competition along with individual prizes at the prize giving ceremony after the final match.
