Grassroots Students showcase talents at U-15’s Men Development Team first trial

Opportunities to impress scouts were handed to numerous grassroots players from different clubs as they gathered in Loto-Tonga Home of Football for the first trials of the U-15 Men’s Team on Monday Evening 6th of February. 71 player’s names were announced on the radio and on TFA Facebook Page as the group for the first trials. However the trial was also open for any players with eligible age to take part.

Three coaches, Viliami Taufa of Ha’ateiho FC, Halapua Falepapalangi of Lotoha’apai United and Timani Naniseni of Toloa FC has been appointed to take on the coaching roles for the team. 

A squad of 18 players will be selected after the trials is completed and they will continue on training and preparing for the OFC U15 Boys Championship hosted in New Zealand on the second week of April.

TFA General Secretary, Lui ‘Aho and TFA Technical Adviser, James Selby also attended the trials to keep an eye on those taking part. There will be more opportunities for players that has attended the first trail with second trials date yet to be announced.
