FIFA-MA Referees Course for Tonga Referees kicks-off in Loto-Tonga Home of Football this morning as 26 referees from the Islands of Vava’u, ‘Eua and Tongatapu participates in this important occasion.
Opening Ceremony was led by a prayer from TFA Staff, Rev. Timote Moleni with welcoming remarks by the TFA Referee Director, Tevita Vea before the course was officially declared open by TFA Board Member, Mr. Fetu’u Vea.

A special welcome was given to FIFA Fitness Instructor, Alejo Laguizamon of Argentina who will be conducting the second phase of the course which will be the fitness tests. “We will be doing of course the full program with a lot of technical instruction but on the physical side we will be doing presentations on different topics such as training recovery, positioning in the game but also we will be doing some fitness test to see if they are fit to referee and how fit they are before we will give feedback to them so that they can get better so this will be a very busy week”, Alejo Laguizamon to TFA Website.

First phase of the course which will focus on the technical area of the referees will be conducted by the TFA Referees Director, Mr Tevita Vea who is also a FIFA Referee Instructor with theoretical sessions and practical sessions will be demonstrated later on the second and third day of the course. The course will progress for five days and will conclude on Friday 25 November.
Joining the course is TFA Referees Instructor from Vava’u, Teiapa’a Tu’itavuki also Fekita Vea and Veimau Fetu’u from the ‘Eua Football Referees.
