The course was a level 1 coaching course and it was conducted by a Brazilian FIFA Futsal Coach Instructor, Mr Juliano Schmeling who is based in Auckland, New Zealand. Juliano explains to TFA Website that recently he was running a course in Fiji and Samoa before he headed here to Tonga for his last coaching course for the year.

“Now we are closing the course but this is just the beginning for Tonga in coaching Futsal because we just discussed with Kilifi that next year we are hoping to have a coach license course here because it will be more helpful for the coaches. Again how the participants were discussing and working on how to develop this sport in the country I’d say after 1 to 3 years, Tonga will be up there in Futsal”, Juliano in his closing remarks.

The course started on Monday 28th November with 23 participants and finished with 21 participants due to 2 participants returning to Vava’u this morning and they all received certificates for completing this level 1 coaching course.

Mr Juliano Schmeling will be returing back to New Zealand tomorrow Saturday.

End.
