Just Play team joined all Early Childhood Schools in Tongatapu in celebrating the International Children’s Day with a theme BE HAPPY!
According to one of the Education Officer, Soana Kafa said: “We are excited to involve football in this sport day and to witness the talent of these young children. The main reason why we chose to include football in these activities is that I have experienced that football is one of the sports that children enjoy the most. I believe that football can be a tool for a better future for these young children”.
The Just Play team representing Tonga Football Association were invited to set up fun activities and games for children to enjoy and also promote football.

Organizing sport day for the young children brings parents from different places together in one place to experience the excitement of the children’s’ happiness. Parents and teachers get to enjoy together with their children involved in the sport activities.
‘Ana Vaea, one of the children’s guardians, said: “It has been a joyful day for me as a mother being involved in this program. Even though the program aimed at children to enjoy it but we parents are more enjoying the sports than the children. I am really excited that the Ministry of Education get to organized this sport day program for the Early Childhood Education children. Not only do I get to witness the smiling faces of our children but I also believe that this is a foundation for the talent of these young kids for the future”.
Involving children to sports in a young age reflects the ability of what they can do. It widened up that these young children are very talented and that talent can be a foundation for their future.
Our only value is when we are needed and it was through the support from Australia and Zealand government, UEFA Foundation for children and UNICEF with assistant of our local MAs.
