The Veitongo U17 female team fought with all their best in their final match against TalafoóuU17 till the final whistle to nail their campaigned in the 2017 TFA Futssal Competition here at the home of Football.
Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided football game, and the nature of the game places a large emphasis on technical skill and ability in situations of high pressure, and is subsequently an excellent breeding ground for football competencies that can be translated into the 11-a-side format of the game.
Futsal is still an infant here in Tonga but its really attracted a lot of youth so therefore Tonga Football conducted Futsal competition annually.
The Veitongo U17 female team’s coach, Manu Tualau was very pleased with the outcomed of his side.
”I am so happy with the way my team played today, as they performed according to our game plan. We did targeted to score 5 goals but it did not happened, but I’m still grateful with my team as we are now the champion,” Tualau says.
”I want to give credit to Talafoóu team for giving my girls a good game, and they did well too as they managed to score a goal,”he added.
”I wish to thank my team for giving our village, Veitongo another victory, and I will make sure we won’t rest, we will continue on as I believed in my team,” Tualau said.
Veitongo U17 team were mostly selected to represent Tonga to the upcoming OFC Futsal competition that will take place in Auckland New Zealand at the end of this month. Tualau also appointed to be the head coach for the Tonga Women’s U 17 to the same competition.
The final for the men’s division will kick off later this week.
