Referee course completed with a good positive note.

’We are super human,’’ this is the message that these 26 referees took home after five hard working days.

The Tonga Football ‘s President, Lord Veéhala joined Mr. Salleh and Kevin Stoltenkamp in presenting 26 certificates to all referees and assistant referees participating in the FIFA Tonga –MA Referee Course.
Every participants received their certificate with a full smile!

Lord Veéhala, expressed his gratitude to FIFA for their ongoing support of Referees, also thanking Mr. Salleh and Mr. for sharing their expertise and experiences in the past five days.

He told the participants, they must make a huge sacrifices, commitments in order to be like Makasini and Lata Kaumatule.

He said, ‘’ now the course is over but you are all geared up! You must apply what you gained from this course no matter if you are a referee or assistant referee. Don’t forget it is
very important to all referees to stay fit and concentrate on his/her regular training. If you commit yourself and make sacrifices, there will be more Makasini and Lata from Tonga officiating FIFA tournaments.’’

The FIFA Referee Instructor, Mr. Salleh was very excited at how the course went with a very enthusiasm group. Salleh said, ‘’I really encouraged this group to think they are SUPER HUMAN, if they want to be a top referee, then you must think, he won’t make mistake on the field, but we know we are not god. Also you must try to reduce mistakes, if they think like that, one day you will become one of those top referees in the world.

‘’I do believe there will be more Makasini from this group if they continued on practising and believing in themselves’’, Salleh said.

Before he conclude his speech, he did acknowledge how Tevita Vea and his team work together and he also extend his gratitude to them for their great co-operation during the duration of the course.

‘’Tevita Vea, did really well, and he also have a great team on his side, wishing them all the best, and please keep on doing the right thing,’’ he said.

‘’Our role is to develop refereeing here in Tonga, and I will make sure it will and will grow from strength to strength, said Vea.

Now all the participants went back to their respective villages including representatives from the outer islands flew back.
