Presenting TFA direction to the Haápai Football!

A one day seminar in Pangai, Haápai proved a real eye opener to all those who attended, as Tonga Football Association laid out the map that outline the developing a strong beach soccer programme.

There were representatives from 14 beach soccer clubs attended with Haápai Football President and his executive committee members and few volunteers in the Just Play program at the Tonga Red Cross in Pangai.

Kilifi Uele, TFA Technical Director, Tevita Vea, Head of Refereeing, Penateti Feke, Competition & Club Licensing Manager and Adelaide Tuívailala, Head of Media and Communications travelled to Haápai to conduct the seminar in presenting the Tonga FA technical and development plan for 2017.

The Haápai Football President, Dr. Tevita Vakasiuola, extended his gratitude thanks to Tonga Football for their ongoing support and assistance.

‘’Since the Beach Soccer introduced to Haápai they felt in love with this game and I can assure you that we will develop to another height’’, Vakasiuola added.

‘I am glad this seminar is finally arrived to our shores and I really appreciate it , as I can picture where we should be in the future.  We had a brighter pathway lies ahead of us,’’Vakasiuola says.

Vakasiuola also requested for more beach soccer equipment for Haápai in the future.

In the competition presentation, it’s so clear that Haápai will put up 6 beach soccer competition for this year and it’s all for grassroots, youth and open girls and boys.

‘’I am very pleased with this seminar, as the representatives were willing to learn and listen to the plan and I was happy at the same time for some of their inputs, most questions raised were very constructive, “ Uele says.

“They promised that they will commit to assist in every way they can as long their competitions will up and running”. Uele added.

Haápai Football is now scheduled their first beach soccer tournament to kick off by mid April 2017.
