TFA Executives set for Zurich

With the FIFA Presidency election scheduled on 1 June 2011, the delegation is headed by TFA President, Lord Ve’ehala and includes Senior Vice President, Paula Ma’u and General Secretary, Lui Aho.
TFA’s mother organization, Oceania Football Confederation, earlier this month announced its full support for the current president, Joseph S Blatter, during its executive meeting in Auckland, but hot on his heels is the President of the Asian Football Confederation, Mohamed Bin Hammam, who is the only candidate contesting football’s world governing body’s top job.
“The FIFA congress is an annual event, and this year’s FIFA Presidency election will be held within the framework of the congress to decide who will run football in the next four years, as well as other agenda to be deliberated on during the meeting” TFA President, Ve’ehala said.
The delegation is looking to discuss the framework of Tonga’s FIFA Goal project IV and other FIFA development programs for the country.
The 2010 FIFA Congress, TFA got the approval of its FIFA GOAL III project, which was inaugurated in October 2010 and features the upgrade of field number two to international standard and a brand new dormitory accommodating 32 beds.
They will return to the kingdom on 6 June 2011.
