FIFA Women’s Football Administration Workshop for five days!

The guest of honour is Ms Ana Bing Fonua, the CEO for Ministry of Internal Affairs, and she is one of the youngest female CEO in Government who officially open the five days FIFA Women’s Administration Course at the home of football in Loto-Tonga. Ms. Heather Reids of Australia is the FIFA instructor to deliver the content of this course.
In her opening remarks, she emphasized to participants, that they must have an open mind and open heart to learn today and remember we need your help for youth, for sports, for PG2019, for development, and especially for girls and women.
“It is indeed a pleasure to be here this morning, to meet such a distinguished visitor and an elite woman such as Ms. Heather Reid.’’ she added.
“ I would like to share with you that nothing can stop you from reaching your goal. Dream big, know that great things lie ahead of you.”Michael Angelo once said, “What lies behind you and what lies before you, are small matters compared to what lies within you”.
She also mentioned, that the Government is pleased with the governance, development and sustainability of Tonga FA. Tonga FA is one of few National Sports Federations in Tonga that emulates independency from government funding. And the Ministry is convinced that if you have the right people in the governance structure, it will contribute 50% to the success of the sports federation. And that’s what Tonga FA has here at Loto Tonga.’’
There are twenty-three participants from all football clubs that own women’s team including participants from secondary schools who are strongly involved in the Secondary Schools football tournament, and there are also representatives from the Vavaú Football.
Tonga Football is forever grateful to FIFA for their ongoing support of Women’s football development activities that TFA applied for this year.
