TFA Just Play Capacity Building WorkshopCapacity Building workshop

Ms Palu Úhatahi, Just Play Project Manager is thrilled that this workshop is happening so she brings her committed volunteers for more training and to find out the current situations. They need assistance but bring them in we will look in to where to assist and what kind assistance they required.
In the opening sessions, Dr. Ófa Tukia, Head of NCD, Health Promotion Unit, Publice Health Division, Ministry of Health presenting the Health Situation in Tonga in related to Shift burden of diseases, from Communicable Diseases to Non-Communicable Diseases. Also the Double-burden in most low-mid income countries (both CD & NCDs) .
Dr Tukia says, ‘’NCDs the leading causes of deaths, and Tonga is one of the top five countries had increased numbers of OVERWEIGHT & OBESITY.”
“’There are ways we must do to prevent and save our people especially our young generations, to measured your meals and make sure it’s balance and healthy.
You can do any form of exercise or movement of the body that uses energy… e.g. daily life activities, such as Physical Activity, Tobacco Control and Alcohol Control,” Dr. Tukia added.
‘’When I received the invitation to come, I had a meeting then I thought, presenting the situation of health in Tonga to football federation is more important than in my meeting, as you will all go back to your community and spread out what I have just presenting.‘’says Dr. Tukia.
Dr Tukia also announced that Ministry of Health in partnership with Tonga Health and Ministry of Internal Affairs launched their New National NCD Strategy (2015-20) (Palani Fakafonua – Hala Fononga Tonga Mo’uilelei) in April 2016.
This workshop will conclude tomorrow.
