Challenge Cup comes alive!

Tonga Football Association new tournament saw football clubs battling out the challenge for the first time on Saturday 11 June 2011 at Tonga’s home of football in ‘Atele.
A total of 15 Clubs took on the challenge, which is expected to take event over the next six weeks in four pools with the winner of each pools proceeding on to the finals.
Old time favourites Ngele’ia Football Club re-emerges this year and are drawn against Houmakelikao FC, Kolofo’ou FC, and Niu’aunofo in pool A.
Pool B consists of Veitongo FC, ‘Ahau FC, Halafuoleva FC and Marist FC of Ma’ufanga.
2010-2011 Major League champions, Lotoha’apai FC, Va’epopua FC, Palangi United FC and Lapaha FC will battle out pool C.
While pool D has Navutoka FC, Toa ko Va’epopua and Ha’amoko FC.
The Challenge Cup competition is staged as a build up tournament to 2011-2012 Major League Season, which will kick off later this year.
